BIRDS - BARN SWALLOW
This morning, our nest of barn swallows has flown out for the first time. It's the second nest and we've seen at least three young fluffy things holding on for dear live to the telephone wires outside the house. They are so cute!
It's a bumper year for our barn swallows this year, we've never had so many around the house, great!
Tried to find a GB swallow stamp but couldn't find one. I love the Belgian swallow definitive but only have that one used, so I had to divert to Ascension Island instead!
I like the Ciskei stamp because it shows the general migration pattern.
Our swallows will be leaving next month I believe and it is incredible to know that they will go all the way to Africa and come back next April to the very same spot: our boiler room!
