Hello:
The designer of this stamp is ascribed as Peter Nitzsche in http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DBP_1994_1763_Hans_Sachs.jpg; Please tell me where the name of the engraver W. Mauer is ascribed. What does "W" stand for please?
Thanks
George

Hi George,
The name of the engraver is mentioned in the Stanley Gibbons catalogue for Germany (part 7).
I've done a bit of Googling but can't find any reference to this engraver, so I can't give you a first name, sorry!
