SPRING IS IN THE AIR
I'm getting all excited, and not just because the weather is improving and I've seen the first green woodpecker here in Dumfries and Galloway! No, it's actually the stamps that were issued in the Netherlands today. All bubbly and flowery and nice and bright. I haven't got them yet, so I can't show them yet, so I'm just going to show you another flowery stamp which I love.

It's plain and simple but I love the colours and the simplicity, it works very well, I think! So well done (again!), Iceland!

A MATTER OF STYLE
There's only so many ways you can depict a flower on a stamp, and you'll be forgiven for being bored quickly with the subject. But have a look at these.

In 2005, Iceland isued four greetings stamps with flowers on and I think they're very stylish and beautiful.

This one here (below) reminds me slightly of the Canadian flower definitives.

And this one, the humble tulip, is my favourite.

Well done Iceland!
